Lab desk · blood tests and scans

One report link for blood tests and scans

The doctor orders the test from the visit. The lab sees the name, the phone, the hospital UHID, and the test. A scan also gets a study number. One pasted or machine-sent link then opens for the doctor, the front desk, and the patient. The pictures stay on the hospital machine.

How it works

  1. 1. The doctor orders the test. On the open visit, one tap adds a common blood test or scan, or the doctor types another name. Send to Patient puts that order on the lab desk. The patient is not asked for a UHID.
  2. 2. The lab works that order. The lab page lists the last 7 days: name, phone, UHID, test, doctor, and visit time. A scan is marked Scan and shows the study number. A blood test stays a lab test, with no study number.
  3. 3. The result link comes back. Staff paste the hospital https link, or the clinic machine sends that link for the same study number. Admin, front desk, and a lab assistant on that hospital’s login can do this. Billing and view-only staff cannot.
  4. 4. The same link opens in three places. The doctor, the appointments desk, and the patient in My Bookings open one link. A clinic with no viewer can still keep a blood-test photo or PDF on the visit for about 10 days.

🩺 The doctor sends the order

From the open visit, the doctor adds the test and taps Send to Patient. The lab works that same order. The lab does not create or edit the test list.

⚡ One-tap common tests

CBC, ESR, CRP, FBS, PPBS, HbA1c, Lipid Profile, LFT, RFT, TFT, Urine Routine, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, ECG, X-Ray, and USG Abdomen. Any other test can be typed in.

🔢 A study number for scans

An imaging order receives an accession, AC plus six digits, such as AC000042. A blood test does not. The printed lab sheet carries the study number for the machine.

🪪 A hospital UHID on the order

Each person has a permanent UHID, UH plus six digits. A family can share one phone. The lab does not ask the patient to recite a UHID.

🔗 Paste the report or viewer link

Staff paste an ordinary https address: a blood-report file or the hospital image viewer. The lab page, the doctor’s order, and the appointments desk all accept that paste.

🖥️ The clinic machine can send it

The machine posts the finished https link for that study number, using a private key that only that hospital’s staff can read. The public booking page cannot read the key.

👀 One link in three places

Open images for a scan. Open report for a lab link. The doctor portal, the appointments desk, and My Bookings all show it. Patients never see the paste box. Pasting the link does not send WhatsApp.

📄 The pictures stay on the hospital machine

Medi 1000 keeps the order, the study number, and the link. It does not store DICOM and it is not a PACS. A blood-test photo or PDF uploaded with the visit is kept for about 10 days.

Questions

What is the lab desk in Medi 1000?

The lab desk is the hospital worklist for blood tests and scans. The doctor orders the test from the visit and sends it to the patient. The lab sees the name, phone, hospital UHID, and test. Scans also get a study number. After the test, staff paste the report or viewer link, or the clinic machine sends that link for the same study number. The doctor, the appointments desk, and the patient in My Bookings all open the same link.

Does Medi 1000 store the scan images?

No. Medi 1000 stores the order, the patient name, the hospital UHID, the study number, and one web link. The X-ray, ultrasound, CT, or MRI pictures stay on the hospital scanner or its archive. Medi 1000 is not a PACS and does not store DICOM files.

Does a blood test get a study number?

No. Only an imaging order receives an accession such as AC000042. A blood test stays a lab test. A named scan that the doctor types, such as MRI or CT, is treated as imaging and gets a study number.

How does the lab report reach the patient?

After the test, staff paste an https report or viewer link, or the clinic machine posts that link for the same study number. Open report or Open images then appears for the doctor, the appointments desk, and the patient in My Bookings. The patient is not asked for a UHID or a link. Pasting the link does not send a WhatsApp message.

Who can open the lab desk?

Admin and front desk open the lab desk. A lab assistant can too, with the lab staff role on the existing hospital login, bound to that one hospital. Billing and view-only staff do not.

How long is an uploaded blood-test photo or PDF kept?

A photo or PDF uploaded with the visit is kept for about 10 days. The web link on the order is separate from that file. The scan pictures themselves stay on the hospital machine.

How far back does the lab worklist go?

The lab page lists orders from the last 7 days, and only after the doctor has sent the order from the visit.
